Website Architecture
This website is hosted on AWS services and uses HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code. I leveraged YouTube tutorials and AI tools to assist me with creating this all from scratch!
Set-up:
- This website is hosted on an S3 static bucket, using a custom Route 53 domain name.
- It leverages CloudFront to distribute and cache content.
- It also uses AWS Certificate Manager to validate requests and convert HTTP to HTTPS.
See below for a visual of this.
Next Steps:
- I plan to include a DynamoDB database (and use Lambda) to create a web application that counts the number of site visitors. Below is the planned architecture for performing this.
Other Opportunities for Expansion:
- Add a mobile & web API, providing both a mobile and web optimised view (currently it's optimised for a web browser).
- Add a web application for visitors to input their feedback on the website.
About Me
Thanks for checking out my website! I created this from scratch to help you learn more about me, demonstrate my skills on the cloud, and hopefully answer any questions you might have.
This website is hosted and created using AWS tools. If you’d like to learn more about how I made it, and my plans to improve, check out the ‘Website Architecture’ section.
My Career at Amazon so far…
I’ve spent nearly four years at Amazon, building a career that blends strategic thinking with commercial impact. I began on the Finance Leadership Program, where I developed strong analytical and financial planning skills, and was promoted to Senior Financial Analyst within retail teams. While I enjoyed the analytical challenge, I was eager to take on a role with greater ownership of growth and revenue.
That led me to the Amazon Vendor Services team, where I’ve worked as an Account Manager. After a few months, I ended up leading the EU Microsoft accounts, managing over $220MM in annual revenue, and now own the relationship with our largest vendor in the Musical Instruments product line, generating more than $40MM annually. In both roles, I’ve enjoyed working directly with clients, solving complex problems, and delivering measurable commercial outcomes.
What sets me apart is a genuine passion for technology and a drive to keep learning. I’m AWS Cloud Practitioner certified and currently preparing for the Solutions Architect Associate exam, with growing interest in AI technologies – some of which helped to create this website!
Outside of Amazon, earlier in my career, I also worked in sales roles for Virgin Media and Softcat whilst at university. These experiences gave me early exposure to the world of tech and sparked my passion for customer-facing work.
Why AWS?
AWS is leading the way in how businesses use technology, helping enabling companies to scale faster and adapt to a changing world. As someone who’s always been curious about where technology is going, especially now in areas like AI and machine learning, it’s an inspiring place to be. I’m excited by the opportunity to contribute to a team that’s shaping the future of business, not just reacting to it.
Joining AWS feels like a natural next step. It brings together many of the skills I’ve built so far: commercial acumen, analytical thinking, and customer obsession, with a genuine interest in technology and how it can solve real problems. I’m especially motivated by the chance to support businesses as they grow in the cloud, helping them to make smarter decisions and unlock new potential. Being part of that journey, and contributing from day one, is exactly where I want to be.
Why me?
I bring a rare mix of commercial instincts, customer-facing experience, analytical acumen, and a solid grounding in cloud technology. At Amazon, I’ve managed high-value partnerships, built trusted relationships, and learned how businesses operate from the inside out. With direct experience supporting strategic vendors, I know how to identify where support is needed and align the right AWS solutions to help businesses scale from day one.
- Commercial: With experience managing multi-million-dollar partnerships, I bring a clear commercial mindset shaped by a blend of strategic finance and hands-on account management.
- Client skills: I’m confident and experienced engaging with senior stakeholders, including C-level executives, and excel in building trusted relationships and navigating complex, high-impact conversations.
- Driven: I’m highly motivated, competitive by nature, and bring the same focus and resilience from my sporting background into my professional life. I thrive in high-pressure environments and am always looking for ways to improve, learn, and push for results.
- Analytical: With a strong financial foundation and sharp problem-solving skills, I’m quick to spot opportunities and backed by advanced capabilities in data-led decision-making.
- Technical: As an AWS Cloud Practitioner (and soon-to-be Solutions Architect Associate), I bring both a solid technical foundation and a genuine passion for cloud technology and its practical applications.
What do I enjoy in my free time?
Sports
Staying active is a big part of my life. I’m currently training in boxing and Muay Thai, and when the weather’s good, I play cricket in a summer LMS league (please don’t check my stats). Some of my historic sporting achievements include:
- Competing regionally and holding several district and numerous club records as a junior competitive swimmer.
- Serving as Vice Chair and first team player for Loughborough University Water Polo team and winning multiple national medals across various teams and age groups.
- Completing the London Marathon whilst raising over £2,000 for the Anthony Nolan charity.
Travel
I love exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. Japan is next on my list! Recently, I spent five weeks in Nepal, trekking and climbing some of the country’s most iconic routes: Everest Base Camp, the Annapurna and Manaslu Circuits, and the remote Tsum Valley. The highlight, and most challenging part of my trip was summiting Island Peak, a technical mountain climb in the Everest region, standing at 6180m (it features twice in the pictures at the bottom of this page).
Cooking
Inspired by my mum (a former chef), I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen. My signature dish? Birria tacos.
Photography
I’ve recently rediscovered my enjoyment for photography, especially during my travels. After picking up a second-hand Fujifilm camera, I now take it with me whenever I can. I’ve attached a few of my favourite photographs on this page!
